Tinubu Is Building What Others Ignored In The Southeast – Minister UmahiMinister of Works, David Umahi, has declared that President Bola Tinubu has effectively reversed years of infrastructural abandonment in Nigeria’s Southeast, crediting him with ushering in a new era of national integration and development.
Speaking during the 2025 Sallah celebrations with the Ebonyi Muslim community in Abakaliki, Umahi said the current administration has made federal projects a reality in a region that had long been sidelined.
“Before now, many Southeast states had no federal projects. But today, the federal presence is visible across the region. That is true national integration,” Umahi stated.
He also commended Tinubu for fostering religious unity and tolerance in Nigeria, citing the President’s attendance at the Pope’s inauguration as a bold and unprecedented show of inclusiveness.
“The relationship between faiths in Nigeria is much better now,” Umahi noted. “We all serve one God in different ways. Both Muslims and Christians preach love and the fear of God.”
The Minister’s comments add to the growing narrative positioning Tinubu’s government as one that is addressing longstanding grievances in historically marginalized regions.
