Sanwo-Olu To Nigerians: ‘Tinubu Is The Only One Who Can Save 2027Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has publicly endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office, ahead of the 2027 general elections. The declaration comes as more politicians from opposition parties continue to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), further strengthening the party’s base.

Sanwo-Olu made his support known while President Tinubu was in Lagos for a series of official engagements and the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, coinciding with the two-year milestone of Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking earlier during the 2025 Workers’ Day celebration at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, Sanwo-Olu joined thousands of workers under the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) in commemorating the day themed “Reclaiming the Civic Space in the Midst of Economic Hardship.”

The governor assured workers of his continued commitment to their welfare, emphasizing that Lagos offers some of the best remuneration packages in the country. He highlighted the consistent payment of salaries and pensions despite global economic headwinds as evidence of his administration’s dedication to labour dignity and wellbeing.

Sanwo-Olu urged workers to be patient with ongoing national reforms, noting that President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is beginning to yield tangible benefits. He praised the President for taking bold decisions aimed at long-term national development and pointed to recent improvements in the agricultural sector as an early sign of economic recovery.

“President Tinubu has shown compassion and courage in the face of challenges,” Sanwo-Olu said. “Today, we must renew our commitment to a Nigeria where every citizen’s labour is valued and rewarded.”

In a message shared via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle and public platforms, Sanwo-Olu also congratulated President Tinubu on the second anniversary of his administration. He described him as a visionary democrat and true nationalist.

“Two years ago, Nigerians handed you a mandate built on hope and renewal,” Sanwo-Olu stated. “Since then, you’ve demonstrated decisive leadership by making difficult but necessary decisions. The Renewed Hope Agenda is no longer just an idea—it’s now shaping governance and reforms across the nation.”

Reaffirming his loyalty, Sanwo-Olu pledged to continue aligning Lagos State’s efforts with Tinubu’s national vision, adding: “As Governor of Lagos State, I stand firmly with your mission and look forward to more progress in the years ahead. Congratulations, Mr. President—may your journey be even more impactful.”
