Kalu Fires Back: Opposition Can’t Stop Tinubu, Nigerians Will Thank Him Later
Eyesjournals reports that Senator Orji Uzor Kalu made these remarks on Tuesday while addressing Senate correspondents at the National Assembly in Abuja.
The former Senate Chief Whip stated that support for President Bola Tinubu is rooted in his performance since assuming office, adding that no opposition alliance can derail his chances for re-election in 2027.
“The APC has no fear of any opposition coalition. We are the party in power and are committed to Nigeria’s progress. That’s why many of us are investing in industries across the country—to create jobs that go beyond government initiatives,” Kalu explained.
Currently serving as Chairman of the Senate Committee on the South-East Development Commission, Kalu acknowledged that criticism from the opposition is expected in any democracy but stressed that it should not be misconstrued as a sign of weakness.
“The opposition is doing its job by criticizing—that’s their role. But our responsibility is to deliver, and we are doing just that. In the years ahead, Nigerians will come to value President Tinubu’s contributions,” he stated.
The former Governor of Abia State also noted that stakeholders from the South-East were among the earliest to endorse Tinubu for a second term.
He admitted that while economic reforms have brought challenges, they are essential steps toward securing Nigeria’s long-term stability and prosperity.
