Heartbreaking Scene In Jigawa As Midnight Crash Claims Entire FamiliesA devastating road accident in Kyarama village, Ringim Local Government Area of Jigawa State, claimed the lives of nine individuals in the early hours of Saturday, June 7, 2025.
The spokesperson for the Jigawa State Police Command, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the heartbreaking incident in an official statement shared with Eyesjournals
According to initial investigations, the accident occurred around 2:00 a.m. when two Volkswagen Golf 3 vehicles collided head-on. One of the vehicles, with registration number MKA 687 AY (Kaduna), was driven by Adamu Sunusi from Hadejia LGA and was en route to Gujungu from Abuja. The other, bearing KWL 606 KA, was driven by Bashari Danjummai of Sauna in Nassarawa LGA, Kano State, traveling from Hadejia to Kano.
The violent impact occurred in Kyaramma village, resulting in the death of nine passengers, including both drivers. Several other occupants sustained varying degrees of injuries.
The wounded were swiftly taken to the General Hospital in Ringim, where medical personnel confirmed the deaths. The bodies have undergone post-mortem examinations and have since been handed over to their families for burial rites.
Eleven survivors remain hospitalized and are currently responding positively to treatment.
In response, the Commissioner of Police, CP AT Abdullahi, extended his condolences to the bereaved families and offered prayers for the quick recovery of the injured. He also appealed to motorists to prioritize road safety, avoid excessive speeding, and ensure their vehicles are in proper condition before embarking on journeys.
