No Free Ride! APC Denounces Viral Claim of Automatic Tickets for Lawmakers as Pure Fabrication
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has come out swinging against widespread reports suggesting that all National Assembly members would be handed automatic tickets ahead of the next general elections.
In a strongly worded statement released on Tuesday, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, categorically dismissed the reports, branding them as fake news with no basis in fact.
“The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to a purported Breaking News Report tagged ‘APC Grants Automatic Tickets to All National Assembly Members’ currently making the rounds. The report is FAKE NEWS and should be disregarded in its entirety as it did not emanate from our great Party,” the statement emphasized.
Morka urged party members and the general public to ignore what he described as a deliberately misleading and mischievous fabrication.
“We urge all Party members and the general public to disregard the report as FAKE and of mischievous origin,” he added.
Naija News reports that rumors spread like wildfire on Monday, alleging that APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, in collaboration with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had finalized plans to guarantee automatic tickets for incumbent federal lawmakers seeking re-election.
The reports also suggested that several governors within the APC ranks were pushing back against the supposed move, raising concerns about transparency and internal democracy.
However, with this official rebuttal, the APC has firmly put the issue to rest—at least for now.
