Kalu Sparks Outrage After Emotional Senate Farewell, Drops Bombshell on National TV
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North and former Governor of Abia State, has made explosive claims that Nigeria’s political elite are fueling the resurgence of Boko Haram to destabilize President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, Kalu alleged that some of the nation’s most influential figures—former governors, powerful politicians, wealthy business moguls, and senior civil servants—are orchestrating a “political war” against the government.
According to him, this new wave of insurgency isn’t driven by money but by an insatiable hunger for power.
“This is not just terrorism—it’s political warfare,” Kalu declared.
“The goal isn’t financial. They want to destroy the system to seize control. That’s not how leadership should be attained.”
Kalu urged unity and patriotism, stressing that the focus should be on rebuilding and uplifting the country rather than tearing it apart for selfish interests.
“If we consider ourselves friends and patriots, we must care about the ordinary Nigerian. Let’s join hands to build, not break.”
His remarks come amid rising security concerns and follow his emotional appearance during the Senate valedictory session, where he faced backlash for shedding tears.
The Fallout:
Kalu’s blunt accusations have ignited heated debate across the country, with many calling for a probe into the claims, while others question the timing and intent behind his statement.
