Reno Omokri has fired back at suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, branding her denial of past sexual harassment allegations against him as a desperate backpedal and “clumsy afterthought.”
The ex-presidential aide’s fiery rebuttal comes after Akpoti-Uduaghan—currently suspended from the Senate—claimed in a recent interview that she had never accused Omokri of sexual misconduct, stating: “I have never accused anyone of sexual harassment apart from Senator Akpabio.”
Omokri, however, isn’t buying it.
“Let her sue me if I lied,” Omokri said in a strongly worded statement on Sunday. “She publicly accused me in October 2021 on Facebook, and again in a video. The posts were deleted only after I proved I wasn’t even in Nigeria at the time of the alleged incident.”
The former aide to President Goodluck Jonathan claims he was in the United States on May 6, 2014—the day Senator Natasha claimed he harassed her during a state banquet for then-Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta.
To support his alibi, Omokri says he published flight details and passport stamps confirming he was abroad and retained screenshots of her original allegations.
He further disclosed that a Christian cleric and Emmanuel Uduaghan (now Natasha’s husband) intervened with a settlement offer to prevent legal action. According to Omokri, money was transferred within 48 hours and labeled as an “offering” to keep the matter quiet.
“I have digital and physical records of everything. Let her publish her own evidence if she has any. I will testify under oath anywhere,” he declared.
Omokri also denied ever awarding or influencing contracts for personal gain and challenged the senator to take legal action if she truly believes his claims are false.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan is currently serving a six-month suspension following her explosive accusation that Senate President Godswill Akpabio sexually harassed her—a claim that rocked the National Assembly and is still making legal ripples.
As tensions rise, Omokri’s challenge places the burden of proof squarely on Akpoti-Uduaghan’s shoulders—setting the stage for a possible courtroom showdown.
