Edo Transformed: Governor Okpebholo Credits Tinubu For Landmark Infrastructural Boom
In a commendable stride towards infrastructural advancement, Edo State is currently witnessing a significant transformation under the leadership of Governor Monday Okpebholo. The governor attributes these developments to the state’s alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a national blueprint designed to foster widespread progress and inclusive growth.
Speaking during an inspection tour of the newly rehabilitated Benin-Iruekpen Federal Road, Governor Okpebholo expressed deep satisfaction with the quality and impact of the project. The road, once notorious for delays and discomfort, now offers a smooth, efficient passage, significantly cutting travel time between Benin City and Iruekpen in the Esan West Local Government Area.
“Until recently, traveling this route could take days due to the deplorable condition of the road. But today, the journey takes only 45 minutes because the road is now smooth and well-developed,” the governor remarked.
He further emphasized that this transformation reflects the fruits of strategic collaboration with the federal government’s vision under President Tinubu. Okpebholo praised the president for his unwavering support and commitment to Edo State, stating that such federal-state synergy has enabled Edo to benefit from what he described as the “dividends of democracy through practical governance.”
“Edo State is enjoying massive infrastructural development because we keyed into the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The president’s love for Edo people is evident in the practical, result-oriented governance we are seeing today,” he added.
The governor underscored that his administration is focused on delivering governance that the people can tangibly feel and experience. The improvements to the Benin-Iruekpen road are just one example of the broader developmental strategy aimed at enhancing transportation, economic productivity, and quality of life in Edo State.
“We have adopted a governance style that is practical and people-centered. The successful completion of this project is a sign of what is possible when leadership is focused, responsive, and aligned with federal goals,” Okpebholo said.
In appreciation of the people’s support, Governor Okpebholo extended his gratitude to Edo State citizens for placing their trust in his leadership. He assured them that further developmental projects are in the pipeline, covering all three senatorial districts of the state.
“My inspiration and energy come from the people. It is their belief in me that fuels my commitment to work tirelessly on their behalf,” the governor affirmed. “Even before assuming this office, I had a clear purpose—to serve the people, improve their welfare, and develop Edo State in every sector.”
Adding technical insights, Engr. Bajwa Mohd, a representative of the construction company involved in the project, confirmed that the road rehabilitation has drastically improved travel conditions. According to him, the once lengthy and difficult journey between Benin City and Ekpoma has now become smoother and more pleasant for commuters.
“The road is much smoother now, and travelers are already enjoying reduced transit times and an overall improved travel experience,” Mohd stated. “The progress made on the Benin/Ekpoma/Auchi road stands as a strong testament to the governor’s dedication to meaningful infrastructure development.”
In conclusion, the Edo State government under Governor Monday Okpebholo is setting a new pace in regional development, inspired and strengthened by the broader national agenda led by President Tinubu. The infrastructural renewal witnessed so far signals a hopeful and progressive path forward for the people of Edo State, with more projects expected to reinforce the vision of a modern, well-connected, and economically vibrant state.
