😱 Deadly Hijack! Suspected Herdsmen Kidnap Dozens Of Women On Benue Road — Survivors Speak OutTragedy struck in Benue State on Saturday evening as suspected armed herdsmen ambushed a Benue Links commercial bus along the Owukpa–Orokam Road in Ogbadibo Local Government Area, abducting several female passengers.

The brazen attack occurred around 7:00 p.m. near the Eyiupi community, as the victims were returning from Orba Market in Enugu State en route to Owukpa.

According to eyewitness accounts, the attackers—believed to be armed herdsmen—intercepted the vehicle and forcefully took away all female occupants, both young and adult.

One woman, who sustained life-threatening gunshot wounds, was abandoned by the kidnappers due to her profuse bleeding, which may have threatened to reveal their location. She is currently in critical condition at St. Mary’s Hospital, Okpoga, receiving intensive medical care.

Amos Agada, head of the Owukpa vigilante group, confirmed the incident and revealed that, as of Sunday morning, the kidnappers had made no contact with the families of the victims. Local security forces have launched a manhunt in an effort to secure their release.

Raising alarm over the growing insecurity in the area, community leader Hon. Adikwu Daniel urged the Chairman of Ogbadibo LGA and all relevant security agencies to take immediate and decisive action.

“This stretch of road has become a known danger zone. The absence of a consistent and effective security presence is putting innocent lives at risk,” Daniel warned.

He also confirmed that appeals for intervention have been forwarded to Ada Ogbadibo, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Orokam.
