VIDEO: Chaos At Lagos Airport As Oshiomhole Shuts Down Terminal After Missing Flight
In a dramatic turn of events that has set social media ablaze, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, former Edo State Governor and current lawmaker representing Edo North, caused a major disruption at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport after reportedly missing his early morning flight to Abuja.
Eyewitnesses at the Zulu Terminal of the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) say the fiery politician arrived late for his 6:30 am Air Peace flight and, upon being denied boarding, blocked the terminal entrance, sparking confusion, delays, and heated arguments with airport officials.
A viral video capturing the altercation shows Oshiomhole engaged in a tense exchange with staff, reportedly refusing to move despite multiple pleas from the terminal manager. Witnesses described the scene as “chaotic” and “embarrassing,” noting that passengers were stranded for over an hour as the senator stood his ground.
“He wanted them to delay the flight for him, but Air Peace stood firm on the rules. He missed the flight. That’s it,” a source told reporters.
In a bid to de-escalate the situation, a regional manager was urgently summoned, and a management-level meeting was held on the spot to persuade Oshiomhole to allow normal operations to continue.
Despite his political status, Air Peace refused to bend the rules, insisting that check-in regulations must be followed by all passengers—no exceptions.
The senator’s actions have sparked backlash online, with many Nigerians accusing him of abusing power and disregarding the rights of fellow travelers.
“This is not leadership. This is entitlement,” one netizen wrote.
As the video continues to circulate, public outrage is building, with calls for airport authorities and aviation regulators to hold the senator accountable for what some are calling a “display of VIP arrogance.”
