Outspoken Clergyman Warns Critics: ‘Your Parents Won’t Save You This Time!A prominent clergyman recently issued a stern warning to a young man, making it clear that any future provocations would no longer be met with caution but with decisive action. “When I go after people, they end up sending others to plead for them. This is your final warning. Next time, there will be no warning at all. If you dare cross me, I know you — and your father or mother won’t be able to intervene. I will handle you myself,” he declared.
The pastor went on to explain his approach, acknowledging that some people support him while others oppose him. However, he emphasized that he doesn’t care about rumors or gossip. “Don’t spread news about me. I don’t want your stories. You won’t make me famous. I’m already addressing the world directly — good or bad. So, don’t carry messages from this church,” he stated firmly.
In response to the pastor’s comments shared on X (formerly Twitter), activist Adeyanju expressed his disappointment. He criticized the pastor’s threats to silence critics, comparing it unfavorably to the example of Jesus Christ. “People criticized Jesus, yet He never locked anyone up. I’m really disappointed in Papa David Ibiyeomie for warning Nigerians not to speak out or criticize his church, threatening to have them arrested,” Adeyanju wrote.
The activist also accused the pastor of using intimidation tactics to stifle dissent and scrutiny. “Boasting about using the police to lock people up — and from a pastor! These actions make pastors seem like unbelievers and hurt the reputation of Christianity. They are a big reason why many people have stopped attending church,” he added.
