Kwankwaso Dismisses Exit Rumors, Reaffirms Commitment To NNPP 2027 Ambitions

Kwankwaso NNPP 2027: National Leader Confirms Loyalty Amid Defection Rumors

The political landscape ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections has been rife with speculation, but the National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has firmly put rumors of his departure to rest. Speaking at the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja on Thursday, Kwankwaso emphasized that he has no intention of leaving the NNPP, reassuring party members and supporters alike of his steadfast commitment…….CONTINUE READING

Background: NNPP’s Rising Influence

Over the past few years, the NNPP has gained significant traction, particularly in Kano State, where Kwankwaso’s political influence remains strong. Despite being a relatively young party compared to Nigeria’s traditional powerhouses, the NNPP has made notable inroads into the political dynamics of northern Nigeria, positioning itself as a viable alternative for voters seeking change. Kwankwaso highlighted the party’s growing acceptance and noted that the NEC meeting was a testament to the confidence members have in its leadership.

Dispelling the Rumors

The NEC meeting came at a time when social media and news outlets were abuzz with speculation that Kwankwaso might leave the NNPP to join another political party. Addressing these reports directly, he said:

“Let me take this opportunity to tell you that we have our party, and we are comfortable. We are happy. We are ready to do whatever it takes because we are not in a hurry.”

Kwankwaso’s clarification sought to calm nerves within the party and reaffirm the loyalty of its members. He emphasized that any discussions regarding the 2027 election would be a collective decision, not one made by a select few.

“If there will be any negotiation, it will be collective. It will not be only for the negotiators but for the entire members of this NNPP family,” he said.

This statement underscores a principle central to Kwankwaso’s leadership style: party supremacy over individual ambitions.

Lessons from History

Kwankwaso also drew from his own political journey to highlight the importance of patience and strategy in politics. Recalling his defeat in the 2003 Kano State governorship election—even while serving as an incumbent—he attributed the loss to widespread public support for the late former President Muhammadu Buhari. However, eight years later, he returned to power, demonstrating resilience and a long-term vision.

“It was a good lesson for everybody,” he noted, stressing that political success often requires endurance and understanding the pulse of the electorate.

Looking Ahead to 2027

With Nigeria’s 2027 general elections approaching, Kwankwaso urged NNPP members to focus on building the party rather than being distracted by the hype surrounding defections to other parties. He reminded supporters that the final arbiter of political outcomes would always be the people.

“Nigerians have already made up their minds about the 2027 general election. Reality will determine the people’s votes,” he said.

His comments indicate a clear strategy: consolidating the NNPP’s base, fostering party unity, and letting voter sentiment shape the party’s path forward.

Analysis: What This Means for Nigerian Politics

Kwankwaso’s statement carries significant implications for the 2027 political scene. First, it reinforces the NNPP’s stability at a time when defections are common in Nigeria’s political environment. Second, it signals to other parties that the NNPP is preparing for a serious contest, especially in northern states where Kwankwaso’s influence remains strong. Finally, by emphasizing collective decision-making, Kwankwaso is projecting a party-focused image that may appeal to voters seeking a disciplined and organized alternative.

Political observers note that the NNPP’s growing influence, coupled with Kwankwaso’s commitment, could reshape electoral dynamics in the north, forcing traditional parties to reconsider strategies in key battleground states.

Conclusion

Rabiu Kwankwaso’s firm commitment to the NNPP is more than just a reassurance to party members—it is a signal to the Nigerian electorate that the NNPP intends to be a formidable player in 2027. By emphasizing unity, collective decision-making, and lessons from his political journey, Kwankwaso is charting a course that prioritizes stability, strategy, and voter confidence.

As the countdown to 2027 continues, all eyes will be on the NNPP and its leader to see whether this growing party can convert its promise into electoral success, particularly in areas where Kwankwaso’s legacy and political network are strongest.

Osun Governorship: APC Committee Promises Transparent, Fair Delegate Congress Across The State

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Gubernatorial Delegate Congress Committee has officially arrived in Osun State ahead of the party’s highly anticipated ward-level congresses.

The committee, led by Chairman Sheu Umar Dange, paid a courtesy visit to the state APC leadership on Tuesday, December 9, at the party secretariat along Osogbo-Gbongan Road.

APC Pledges Transparency and Fairness

During the meeting with Osun APC Chairman Tajudeen Lawal and local government party leaders, Dange emphasized the committee’s dedication to fairness and transparency.

“We are ready to conduct delegate congresses in all 332 wards across the state. Our activities will be conducted without bias, and we welcome any complaints to address them fairly,” he said.

Dange urged party stakeholders to see their participation in the exercise as a crucial contribution to strengthening APC’s electoral success in Osun.

Ensuring a Smooth Congress

Secretary of the committee, Chiedu Eluemunoh, explained that all mechanisms for a smooth process were already in place. This includes the deployment of ad-hoc staff to all wards to ensure efficiency.

He clarified that only revalidated members of the APC in Osun will be eligible to vote.

“Being a party member does not automatically qualify you to vote. Only those revalidated will participate in the congress,” Eluemunoh noted.

To address potential grievances, an Appeal Committee has been set up, with sittings scheduled to begin on December 10, to hear complaints from any aggrieved members.

State APC Leadership Pledges Full Support

In response, Osun APC Chairman Tajudeen Lawal welcomed the congress committee and assured them of the full support of the State Working Committee (SWC) to ensure a successful and credible exercise.

“We are committed to providing all the necessary support to guarantee a smooth and transparent congress for our party members,” Lawal stated.

Dalung Breaks Silence: TikTok Chat With Bandit Exposes Deep Secrets Behind The Violence

Former Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, has opened up about a surprising and thought-provoking conversation he once had with a young man who claimed to be living in the bush as a bandit. Dalung shared the experience during an interview with News Central, explaining how the encounter gave him a deeper understanding of the issues fueling insecurity……CONTINUE READING

According to Dalung, he was browsing TikTok when he came across the young man, who openly described himself as someone living in the forest due to ongoing conflict. Curious, Dalung asked why they engaged in violent activities. The young man responded that they had suffered losses themselves and felt targeted by vigilante groups who, according to him, harmed their people and took their cattle. This, he said, pushed them into retaliation and led them deeper into the bush.

Dalung explained that he challenged the young man, pointing out that innocent people—including other Fulani individuals—were being harmed in the process. The young man replied that, from their viewpoint, only those living in the bush were considered part of their community, while anyone living in town was seen differently. It was a response that, according to Dalung, revealed how distorted perceptions can worsen the cycle of conflict.

Wanting to know if there was any path toward peace, Dalung asked what could help end the violence. The young man shared that they were open to negotiation and discussions that could encourage them to give up their weapons and reintegrate into society. Dalung noted that the confidence with which the young man spoke was unsettling, but it also showed that dialogue could be part of the solution.

Reflecting on the experience, Dalung urged the National Assembly to consider constitutional changes that would allow Nigerians the legal right to defend themselves responsibly, especially in areas affected by insecurity.

His conversation serves as a reminder of how complex the nation’s security challenges are—and how personal engagement, understanding, and strategic dialogue may help chart a way forward.
