“Even Rigging Won’t Save Him”: Sambo Explains Why Tinubu Will Fail In 2027 Election

In a no-holds-barred warning, influential northern elder and outspoken commentator, Alhaji Dabo Sambo, has declared that President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 is under serious threat unless he urgently tackles the deepening crisis of insecurity and hunger gripping Nigeria, especially the North.

Speaking to journalists on Thursday, Sambo pointed to rampant banditry, terrorism, and farmer displacement as critical factors fueling food scarcity and economic instability. He stressed that unless Tinubu eliminates these threats within six months and revives local agriculture within a year, the president’s political future could mirror that of Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.

“The time for campaign salt and noodles is gone,” Sambo said. “Nigerians want real security and food. Without that, Tinubu cannot win.”

He also slammed Tinubu’s political opponents as directionless but warned that even rigging would not save a failing government.

Sambo didn’t hold back in accusing the president of being surrounded by the real enemies of Nigeria’s progress—those enabling inaction and delay. He further urged Tinubu to wake up to international sabotage, referencing U.S. Congressional reports and statements from Nigeria’s Defence Chief alleging USAID’s covert support for Boko Haram.

“Enough is enough,” Sambo concluded. “If Tinubu fails to act decisively, 2027 will mark his exit.”
