Aisha Yesufu Challenges Deji Adeyanju: “Bring The Evidence Against Peter Obi”

Aisha Yesufu Challenges Deji Adeyanju

Nigeria’s political space is no stranger to heated accusations, dramatic court battles, and loyal supporters rallying behind their chosen candidates. But when activist Aisha Yesufu speaks, Nigerians tend to listen—because her words often carry both conviction and clarity…….CONTINUE READING

This time, she has waded into the brewing storm between Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate (and a likely contender for 2027), and lawyer-activist Deji Adeyanju, who has repeatedly accused Obi of fraud.

Rather than dismiss Adeyanju’s claims as political noise, Yesufu has taken a pragmatic approach: if Adeyanju insists he has evidence, then let him present it in court.

The Accusations Against Peter Obi

For weeks, Adeyanju has accused Peter Obi of being “fraudulent,” “a manipulator,” and “a religious bigot.” He claims to have evidence but has yet to publicly release it. Many Nigerians, however, believe his recent outbursts are politically motivated, possibly orchestrated by forces within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) who view Obi as a formidable challenger in 2027.

Obi, refusing to let the accusations slide, has taken legal action. He has dragged Adeyanju to court, demanding that he present the so-called evidence of fraud.

Aisha Yesufu’s Bold Stand

Aisha Yesufu, co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) movement and a fierce voice in Nigerian civic activism, made her position clear via X (formerly Twitter).

She emphasized that as a loyal supporter of Peter Obi, she would never continue backing him if credible evidence of fraud surfaced. However, she insisted that the right platform for truth is the courtroom.

Her words cut straight to the point:

“As a supporter of Mr. Peter Obi, I am interested in the evidence the Barrister has. I would not be one to give support to anyone that is fraudulent so this case will offer me and millions of others the opportunity to have access to the evidence Barrister Deji has so we know whether to continue our support for Mr. Peter Obi or withdraw it.”

Yesufu also praised Obi for handling the matter civilly, choosing the courts over authoritarian tactics. She reminded Nigerians that had Obi used state power to arrest Adeyanju, she herself would have been on the frontlines demanding Adeyanju’s release.

Why This Matters for 2027

The road to the 2027 general election is already heating up, and political narratives are being shaped long before official campaigns begin. For Peter Obi, who built his 2023 candidacy on integrity, accountability, and good governance, allegations of fraud strike directly at the heart of his political identity.

Yesufu’s stance underscores an important reality: political loyalty should not be blind. Nigerians are tired of personality cults; they want leaders whose reputations can withstand scrutiny.

If Adeyanju indeed has credible evidence, presenting it in court would be a turning point not just for Obi, but for Nigeria’s democratic culture. If he does not, then his credibility—and perhaps that of those backing him—will take a severe hit.

The Bigger Picture

This clash between Obi, Adeyanju, and Yesufu’s intervention reflects a broader struggle in Nigerian politics: truth versus propaganda. With social media amplifying both facts and fake news, Nigerians must learn to separate evidence from noise.

Aisha Yesufu’s intervention is therefore timely. By insisting on evidence, she shifts the debate away from mudslinging and back to accountability.

Final Thoughts

As 2027 draws closer, political battles will only intensify. What will set this period apart is whether Nigerians demand proof before forming opinions. In the Obi-Adeyanju saga, Aisha Yesufu has set the standard: don’t just throw accusations—bring the evidence.

For Peter Obi’s supporters, the courtroom may soon become the stage where his integrity is tested. For Adeyanju, it’s an opportunity to back up bold claims with facts—or risk being remembered as just another political noisemaker.

Either way, Nigeria is watching.

Dalung Breaks Silence: TikTok Chat With Bandit Exposes Deep Secrets Behind The Violence

Former Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, has opened up about a surprising and thought-provoking conversation he once had with a young man who claimed to be living in the bush as a bandit. Dalung shared the experience during an interview with News Central, explaining how the encounter gave him a deeper understanding of the issues fueling insecurity……CONTINUE READING

According to Dalung, he was browsing TikTok when he came across the young man, who openly described himself as someone living in the forest due to ongoing conflict. Curious, Dalung asked why they engaged in violent activities. The young man responded that they had suffered losses themselves and felt targeted by vigilante groups who, according to him, harmed their people and took their cattle. This, he said, pushed them into retaliation and led them deeper into the bush.

Dalung explained that he challenged the young man, pointing out that innocent people—including other Fulani individuals—were being harmed in the process. The young man replied that, from their viewpoint, only those living in the bush were considered part of their community, while anyone living in town was seen differently. It was a response that, according to Dalung, revealed how distorted perceptions can worsen the cycle of conflict.

Wanting to know if there was any path toward peace, Dalung asked what could help end the violence. The young man shared that they were open to negotiation and discussions that could encourage them to give up their weapons and reintegrate into society. Dalung noted that the confidence with which the young man spoke was unsettling, but it also showed that dialogue could be part of the solution.

Reflecting on the experience, Dalung urged the National Assembly to consider constitutional changes that would allow Nigerians the legal right to defend themselves responsibly, especially in areas affected by insecurity.

His conversation serves as a reminder of how complex the nation’s security challenges are—and how personal engagement, understanding, and strategic dialogue may help chart a way forward.

He added that the Kishi incident was also contained quickly:

“Upon arrival, we discovered the generator room was completely engulfed. Our firemen acted immediately and stopped the fire from reaching the main building. It was fully extinguished in record time.”

The Oyo State Fire Service has urged residents to prioritize safety measures, maintain electrical and generator installations, and report emergencies promptly to reduce losses.
